Comprehensive Evaluations as an LEP. School psych assessments can be similar to the assessments that are completed by LEPs.  But, there can also be differences.  Most LEPs work in isolation and therefore, there are not other assessment team members to complete a language evaluation when examining autism (as an example).  CA Education Code does not define the assessment requirements for a private report completed by an LEP.  Actually, there are no “requirements” written out by any specific body.

Many LEPs have questions about the paperwork involved before starting an assessment with a client as well as when to refer to another assessor when the question is outside of your personal scope of practice.  This is the topic of conversation in our LEP Monthly Q&A in August.

Each month we tackle a specific topic as well as answer YOUR questions about being an LEP.  We answer questions from things to consider when starting a practice to IEE do’s and don’t’s.  Interested?  Join us for only $40 for the entire 2021-2022 school year.  LINK:
